About the event
Rookie and Transfer patrollers, as well as patrollers not yet signed off as Alpine Patrollers, should plan to attend these recurring training events to improve your ski skills and learn to safely and effectively handle a toboggan. This training is in conjunction with normal duty day responsibilities and will typically begin in the mornings around 10:00 following openers and duty station responsibilities. Toboggan training will be conducted away from the public as much as possible for safety. As more of the mountain opens, training will move to more difficult terrain and routes.
Refer to the OET Manuel for details on the skills and procedures required to safely handle an unloaded and loaded toboggan. Don't wait for these formal training days to practice with a seasoned patroller. Remember, you can also join formal ski instruction on non-duty days at no charge. Coordinate a lesson at the Red Tent.
Training will culminate…
